Terry Jacks did a version of the English version of the song, originally written by Jacques Brel. The English version, entitled If You Go Away, was translated by Rod McKuen and sung by just about everyone from Frank Sinatra to Shirley Bassey. Scott Walker must have had a go as well. There's also a fantastic Italian version, called Non Andare Via, which is one of Patty Pravo's warhorses.
